Description

Aachi Chettinadu Biryani Masala Paste

Aachi Chettinadu Biryani Masala Paste is a ready-to-use spice blend that captures the rich and aromatic flavors of Chettinadu cuisine, a popular South Indian culinary style known for its bold use of spices. The paste simplifies the process of making biryani, a layered rice dish, by providing a pre-mixed combination of ingredients like ginger, garlic, and a blend of spices that are typical in Chettinadu biryani.

How to Make Biryani Using Aachi Chettinadu Biryani Masala Paste

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 200 grams chicken or vegetables (as per preference)
  • 2 tablespoons Aachi Chettinadu Biryani Masala Paste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons cooking oil or ghee
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander and mint leaves for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Prep the Rice

    • Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20-30 minutes. Drain before cooking.

Cook the Meat/Vegetables

    • Heat oil or ghee in a large pan or pressure cooker.
    • Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
    • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
    • Add the chicken or vegetables and sauté for a few minutes until partially cooked.

Add the Masala Paste

    • Stir in 2 tablespoons of Aachi Chettinadu Biryani Masala Paste.
    • Mix well to coat the chicken/vegetables evenly with the paste.

Cook the Rice

    • Add the soaked and drained basmati rice to the pan.
    • Pour in 2 cups of water, and add salt to taste.
    • Mix everything gently, ensuring the rice is submerged in the liquid.

Cook and Serve

    • Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy, or pressure cook for 1-2 whistles.
    • Once done, fluff the rice gently with a fork.
    • Garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves.
